Yellow Ribbon Fund, established in February 2005, provides critical support to post-9/11 wounded, ill, and injured service members, extending its services to their families and caregivers. This includes offering housing, transportation, education, employment assistance, and family support to aid in their recovery and rehabilitation.
Enhancing the lives of military families facing medical crisis
Yellow Ribbon Fund was one of the first veteran service organizations to recognize the importance of keeping the family together during the critical recuperation phase.
Through the creation of our key programs, Crossroads and Keystone, we are able to make an impact on veterans and their families nationwide. When a service member is wounded, ill or injured and requires hospitalization or rehabilitation, the military provides comprehensive care and support directly to the service member.
Crossroads- Provides practical support to post-9/11 active-duty and disabled veterans by offering rental cars, hotel stays, and fully-furnished apartments at no cost to military families while they are receiving medical treatment at Walter Reed Hospital.
Keystone- Empowers families and caregivers by offering recreational and respite events, fitness and wellness activities, life skills training and educational classes, networking, and peer-to-peer support.
These resources have proven to boost morale, promote self-care and resilience, and foster friendships and family bonding.
Boot Campaign was born out of the desire of everyday Americans to show their gratitude towards our service members, Veterans, and their families. They symbolize this appreciation by lacing up combat boots, a clear and visible sign of military service.
For over a decade, they have made a difference thanks to patriots all across the country who believe in their mission and have helped them share it with their loved ones, friends, and colleagues.
Their mission is to bring together all Americans to honor and improve the lives of Veterans and military families through personalized programs that make a real impact.
They are proud to be recognized and accredited by the Better Business Bureau alongside 25 other national Veteran and military service non-profits and meet the highest standards of accountability and effectiveness. This is further validated by their Platinum rating from Candid’s GuideStar and being named one of the nation’s Great Non-profits. Additionally, Charity Navigator has given them a 100% rating.
Transparency is equally important. They ensure that eighty-seven cents of every dollar donated to Boot Campaign directly supports their mission-driven programs.
WHMF aims to reach disconnected Veterans through recreational activities and connect them with Veteran communities, services, and resources. WHMF Activities include individual, group, and ticket events.
Individual Activities- We encourage veterans to engage in whatever events they are comfortable doing. It can be as simple as grabbing a cup of coffee or as extravagant as two veteran families taking a vacation together. However, your time, resources, and comfort allow you to serve one another.
Group Activities- WHMF organizes as many group events as our resources allow, including fishing trips, river kayaking trips, camping trips, and more. We share event information on our website as it becomes available.
Ticketed Events- For this program, we rely heavily on ticket donations from sports teams, venues, and promoters. Members may submit a request to attend an event. Any tickets we have available for the events are first-come, first-served. Members who have not received tickets will have priority.
As more funding becomes available, we will consider investing in recreational assets, including a veterans camp, water sports equipment, season ticket packages, and other ways to create more opportunities to meet the desire to connect with veterans in our community.
MVP was founded in 2015 by Fox Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer, former Green Beret, and Seattle Seahawk Nate Boyer.
They wanted to address the challenges combat veterans and former professional athletes face in transition once their uniforms are removed.
MVP empowers combat veterans and former professional athletes by connecting them after the uniform comes off, providing them with a new team to assist with the transition, promoting personal development, and showing them they are never alone.
Our nation's warriors - from every battlefield - possess a sense of strength, excellence, and commitment that we seldom see here at home. However, far too many struggle to transition their abilities towards a new mission - leading themselves, their families, and their communities off the field. MVP was designed to address this challenge and ensure that our nation's warriors can be as productive off the field as they were on it.
By merging vets and players, we create an environment where these warriors can share each other's strengths and experiences and support each other in building fulfilling lives of service and strength. Your support will enable us to continue building our program and unlocking the potential of these great individuals.
